There's no shortage of things for our younger visitors to do, like the Kingdom of Fanes themed trail, which follows the trials and tribulations of princess Dolasilla narrated in the saga of the Fanes folk.

Bikers

San Vigilio is a strategic location for motorbike enthusiasts too. From here you can get to Gardena Pass, Sella Pass, Campolongo Pass and Falzarego Pass, for example. Trekking and mountain bike

Besides trekking and Nordic walking, in the park you can go rock climbing at two natural rock parks and splendid vertical walls; alternatively you can go on long mountain bike trips, easily hiring bikes at one of the town's hire firms.

Excursions

The town sits on the edge of the Fannes-Sennes-Braies Natural Park, which is one of the largest in the region, measuring 25,680 hectares. Exploring the park you may come across plenty of animals in their natural habitat, including the capercaillie, golden eagle, chamois, ibex, marmot and recently-introduced highland cattle. With ultra-modern ski lifts, it's part of the Dolomiti Superski area and has 116 km of pistes for all abilities. Expert skiers can tackle the five black runs, Sylvester, Herrnegg, Pre da Peres, Erta and Piculin, while those who prefer less challenging runs can opt for one of the blue runs like Miara, which lead right down to the town.
